Hey, I'm Tracie!

I started Play It Safe Defense after seeing a real need for self-defense training for women and children who did not want to join a martial arts program. I was a stay-at-home mom training in the martial arts with my sons, and I kept getting asked to teach practical self-defense in a way that felt real, empowering, and age-appropriate.

Since then, I’ve had the chance to teach close to one million children, teens, and women, and build a program that is fun, practical, and built for real life. Along the way, I’ve also done some really cool things, like:

Appearing on Dr. Phil, the Dr. Phil Podcast, and THE DOCTORS TV as a child safety and empowerment expert
Teaching over 200,000 Girl Scouts, along with schools, youth groups, camps, and community organizations
